VMware Workspace ONE is at Dell Technologies World 2021 – Here’s everything that is happening

Dell Technologies World 2021 is running online this week, on Wednesday, May 5 and Thursday, May 6.

As in years past, the VMware end-user computing team has a lot to talk about at the show, including:

  • The latest in Dell Technologies Unified Workspace, powered by Workspace ONE.
  • A new standalone offering of Workspace ONE Intelligence, which will initially be sold through Dell Technologies.
  • Many great VMware breakout sessions, including one from our own Jason Roszak, VP of Product Management, VMware Workspace ONE, as well as a Workspace ONE UEM hands-on lab.

Read on to find out more about our recent updates and presence, and head to the Dell Technologies World page to register.

Dell Technologies Unified Workspace – Now with connected provisioning

A couple of years ago, Dell Technologies announced Unified Workspace – a portfolio of products and services powered by Workspace ONE to provide modern deployment, management, security and support. VMware provides best-in-class unified endpoint management and employee experience while continuing to innovate in partnership with Dell.

Today, Dell Technologies Unified Workspace includes services like drop-ship provisioning (including Dell Provisioning for VMware Workspace ONE and Dell Connected Provisioning), and products like VMware Carbon Black, in addition to Workspace ONE.

One of our existing innovations is drop-ship provisioning offline. (Dell’s offering is called Dell Provisioning for VMware Workspace ONE, and is also referred to as factory provisioning.) Drop-ship provisioning offline is a PC configuration and deployment service that allows organizations to drop-ship devices preconfigured with company apps and settings directly from the factory to the end user. This process requires IT to create and provide a configuration file and provisioning package to the factory.

This year, customers can now take advantage of drop-ship provisioning online. (Dell’s offering is called Dell Connected Provisioning.) This streamlines the process further, eliminates the need to send over these configuration files and provisioning packages, and instead provisions devices from the cloud via Workspace ONE.

Workspace ONE Intelligence standalone offering

As companies embrace the Anywhere Workspace journey, employee experience is becoming top of mind. One of the key challenges IT faces when enabling employees to work from anywhere and from any device is visibility into the digital employee experience.

VMware’s Digital Employee Experience Management (DEEM), powered by Workspace ONE Intelligence, helps customers overcome this challenge. It monitors digital workspace KPIs impacting employee experience and delivers unified visibility and insights across desktop and mobile devices and apps, empowering IT to proactively identify issues across their entire environment. Recently, we announced a new functionality in DEEM called Incidents, which delivers guided root cause analysis (RCA), helping IT solve issues faster.

We also announced that Workspace ONE Intelligence will be available as a standalone offering, which can be used on unmanaged devices, or devices managed with third-party. This offering will be sold through Dell Technologies Unified Workspace and is expected to be available in VMware’s Q2FY22.
